Rwanda is currently experiencing a construction boom, particularly in Kigali, where the "Vision 2050" strategy drives the need for sustainable infrastructure. This has led to a surge in demand for high-quality float glass that can withstand the diverse topography and humid subtropical climate of the region.
Currently, the market relies heavily on imports. Local contractors are shifting from basic clear glass to specialized float glass window systems that offer better thermal insulation to reduce the reliance on mechanical cooling in commercial office buildings.
Furthermore, the rise of luxury hospitality and retail sectors in Rwanda has increased the appetite for value-added products. We see a growing preference for brown mirror glass in interior design to manage sunlight intensity while maintaining a sophisticated, modern aesthetic.
